On 18 April 2013 Stan Meeds received a Service to the Community Award from Boston Borough Council. The citation is as follows:
In appreciation of his dedicated commitments and invaluable service to the community, particularly to St Nicholas Church, Skirbeck, serving as churchwarden for over thirty years, to the British Red Cross, and the local branches of the Royal British Legion and The Royal Naval Association.
...this award for services to the community as an expression of the high esteem in which he is held in the Borough.
